8th grade Lady Knights, your first basketball practice is in the gym...TODAY! Be changed out with a water bottle after school. Still need a schedule, no problem. Pick one up at practice.

Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. Have you ever wanted to participate in the world’s oldest sport? Great news! Wrestling starts next week. Please join us in the large gym next to the climbing wall TOMORROW. Bring a couple of friends.

This is a message for all NJHS members, your September service hours are due this Friday. Also, if you are interested in running for a leadership position, complete an interest form on our NJHS Google Classroom - the deadline to submit is Monday - no exceptions. Lastly, NJHS t-shirts are in - please stop by Ms. Omdahl's room to pick up your shirt this week Thank you in advance for your service to our community.

Attention all 7th-grade girls interested in playing basketball for the Newton Knights. There will be a signup at lunch this Thursday, October 6. Practices will start next Tuesday morning, October 11 at 7:45 am. All ability levels are welcome! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Krikke or Mr. Marshall.

8th grade Lady Knights, did you miss last night's brief informational meeting about the upcoming season? It's ok, you didn't miss the first practice. Meet the coaches in the gym on Tuesday after school. Need the schedule? Stop by Ms. Timinski's room 0529 and pick it up.

Students: Just a reminder that you are NOT allowed to enter the pod or classroom areas until the bell rings at 8:49! You must stay in the hallway or learning stairs until that time when you enter the building!

Attention Student Council Members: On Thursday AFTER school from 4-4:45pm we will have our next meeting. If you are interested in running for President, Vice President or Secretary positions we will have time to hear speeches. Please see your email with details. See Mrs. Jenkins with questions.

Congratulations to the 7th grade track team on a fantastic season. The boys finished the season with a 2-1 record after their win over rival Powell last night. First place winners include the relay team anchored by Sunny Vesikula in the 4 x 200, the relay team anchored by Ross Dembinski in the 4 x 100, the 200 m dash by Caden Shanahan, the team anchored by Nick Adamowski in the Medley, the shot put by Noah Hayes, and finally the discus by Sunny Vesikula. Great job by all the boys this year!

The girls are your 7th grade city champions going undefeated after their decisive win over Powell. First place winners for the girls include Taylor Foster in the 60M hurdles, the relay team anchored by Sydney Gilbert in the 4 x 200 M, the 100 m dash and the discus by Wren Freeman, the team anchored by Brooke Brackett in the 4 x 100 m, the 800 m race one by Maeve Vancik, the 200 m race one by Lilli Mullen, the relay team anchored by Jenna Stutz in the medley, and the discus won by Jenna students. Fantastic job this season ladies!!!!

Coach Perkins and Wilmes want to thank all of their athletes for their great effort and dedication. Stay tuned for details on a "Season Celebration" pizza party

There will be a change to our master schedule effective TODAY, September 26th. You will go from 5th period to 7th period and Knight Time will be at the end of the day! Just a reminder to check your grade level Google classroom for your Knight Time Schedule!

Students: A reminder that you are not allowed to have your cell phones on during school hours. This includes air dropping items. We are still having issues with items being air dropped to teachers. If you are attempting to air drop, you will have a consequence.

Attention all students, bring your CODE Cards with you to lunch TODAY to enter the CODE Raffle. Make sure you have your first and last name on the cards when you enter them. Tomorrow you can win fabulous prizes and yummy snacks if your card is picked. This year we are limiting the number of tickets for the raffle to five, but don't worry, we have other ways for you to spend your cards coming soon!!

In the finals of the 7th grade Kickball Championship between Mr. Braun and Mr. Worsley, in walk-off fashion, Mr. Worsley's team walked away victorious on a 3 run homerun, to win the kickball championship 6-5. It's clear that Mr. Worsley's class won because Mr. Worsley is a legendary coach and inspirational leader! Congratulations to all of the students in Mr. Worsley's homeroom on their championship!

Congratulations to the boys and girls seventh grade track teams as they went over to Goddard Monday afternoon and defeated the Vikings. The boys won by a score of 82 - 30 and the girls were dominant with an 82 - 6 final. Our next meet will be Monday at Euclid. Way to go knights!

This is a message for NJHS members: There will be a mandatory NJHS meeting on Thursday, September 8th in Ms. Omdahl's room ~ room 1426 in the 6th grade pod from 4 - 4:30. All members must attend. If you have any questions, please email or see Ms. Omdahl during KT.

Attention 6th grade GT students, during homeroom today, listen for an announcement to join Mr. Enterline on the learning stairs. Bring your Chromebook at that time for a quick meeting. You will return to your homeroom following the meeting.
