or large objects into the headphone port, etc.  You need to be careful
and be kind to your computer.


There will be no game and coding club meeting this week.  Club will
resume next semester when we return from break.

There will be a NJHS meeting after school today in Ms. Omdahl's room.  Please

Today is Hat Day! Teachers, if you have not already done so, please
pass out wristbands to the students who bought one. Students will
wear it all day along with their hat as proof that they exchanged their
CODE cards to wear it in school

Thank you to Ms. Bransgrove and all the band members for a fantastic
concert last night!  6th grade's performance of Merry Kisimusi, 7th grade's
rendition of Christmas Time with Charlie Brown, and 8th grade's  version
of The Christmas Truce of 1914 were all spectacular. The Jazz band knocked
it out of the park with "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch."  Thank you all for your
hard work and dedication!

We’ll be at lunches today collecting 3 CODE cards if you wan
t to wear a hat for Hat Day. You will tell us who your first teacher
of the day will be on Friday morning. That teacher will hand you
a wristband to wear all day. The wristband is your ticket proof that
you are allowed to wear it. No one without a wristband can wear a hat.

This Friday is Hat Day! You can exchange 3 of your CODE cards
starting on Wednesday during lunch for the privilege of wearing your hat
of choice this Friday. It can be a holiday hat, sports team hat or anything
else you’d like as long as it’s appropriate for school. More details to come,
please listen for the announcement.

Have you overcome challenges in your life? Are you willing
to tell your story? Newton has been selected to be highlighted
at the No Place for Hate breakfast in February. During this celebration,
the stories of brave Newton staff and students will be shared through
film. The problem is I don't know who you strong humans are, so can
you please email Mrs. Gardner or stop by room 1586 to introduce yourself.
I look forward to meeting all you fabulous people. 

8th grade Lady Knights-please join Coach Conant and Timinski after
school TODAY in room 1372 to celebrate your basketball season.

A huge pat on the back to Newton's four chess tournament participants!
Elliott B placed highest in our school, with Jack F, Miles T,
and Aaron R following closely behind! Great job representing our school
with awesome sportsmanship!

Generosity week 2 continues. There are many homerooms with
animals on their mind. Mrs. Andrew's, Ms. Gardner's, Mrs. Bond's,

in those donations this week and let's really make a difference.

During our generosity month, giving a shout out to Mrs. Oaster's homeroom. They will be sponsoring Warren Village which empowers disadvantaged single parents to regain self-esteem, reconnect to the community, and ultimately reclaim a productive place in the community.

We have started our month of Generosity. I would like to give a shout out to Mr. Finer's homeroom. Over Thanksgiving week, they focused on random acts of kindness. Ainsley D was skiing and a person fell down, so she helped them back up.  Braden M helped his sister carry a lot of stuff out the door for their Thanksgiving meal. Mr. Finer organized a shoveling party at my two elderly neighbors' houses.
