The Yu-Gi-Oh! Club is converting to the Game Day Club! Play trading card games, regular card games, and board games.  Join us to play a variety of games! Hangout with your friends, and play different games in the Art Room on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:00!  Please see Ms. J Andrews if you have any questions.


Just a reminder to all Lego-inclined Newton Knights, see you in the art room today after school for Lego Club!


8th grade girls, are you ready to Bump, Set, Spike?  There will be a brief informational meeting during lunch on February 12 about volleyball season.  If you forget to see Ms. Timinski during lunch on Monday, fear not,  as there will be a second brief meeting after school on Tuesday, February 13th in room 1117.  If you attend the after school meeting, please make sure you have a ride home, as the meeting will last approximately 15 minutes. Can't make a meeting?  See Ms. Timinski or Mrs. Osthoff for information.  The first practice will be after school on Thursday, February 15th.


C-Team beat Options 18-8 last night to advance to the championship game on Saturday. Reid C and Jacob G led the team in scoring. Mac U's all-around good play turned the game in our favor in the 3rd quarter. Our A and B-teams play their semi-final games vs Euclid today after school in the gym. Come cheer on your Newton Knights!


Congratulations to Noah C, the 2018 Littleton Public Schools DISTRICT spelling bee champion!  Noah out-spelled 43 other students to claim the district title and will represent Newton at the state spelling bee in March. His championship word was arbalest (ar-buh-lest). Way to go, Noah!

Lost and Found lunch bags and water bottles will be thrown out tomorrow!  Pick them up before school is over.

Hey Newton Knights, would you like to join Lego Club for February and March? We meet in the art room after school on Thursdays and legos are provided. Come make some stop motion films or just build and hang out with friends. This is a great club to join and we need some more lego-builders to join the team!


The 7th grade boys basketball A team came back from 9 points down to beat Goddard 35 to 34.  All 7 players scored, and Quinten G led the team with 12 points.  In the B game, Newton hung on to win a defensive battle 23 to 21.  Lars R scored 10 points, while Caleb W added 7.  In the C game, Newton improved from their last game but still came up on the losing side.  Ben A led with 4 points.  Newton will host Euclid next Monday, in the season finale, so come out and support your Knights!

8th grade boys basketball A-Team beat Powell last night 37-29 behind Alex H's 14 points and Jareb R's 11 rebounds. Good team defense was the key to victory. B-Team lost 40-17 but Micah C, Zachary D, Maxwell R, and Sean H were the top scorers. C-Team beat Powell 24-10 behind a great overall effort.  Tyler D and Jakob D were the leading scorers. 8th grade semi-finals start next week and 7th grade plays their first home game Monday, so be sure to come watch! Go Knights!

On Tuesday, the 8th grade boys basketball teams had another great night. A-Team beat Goddard 47-39 behind Chase D's 20 points. Jareb R added 6 rebounds to the effort. B-Team lost a heartbreaker 29-30. Ben A's 2 late 3 pointers helped rally the Knights from a 6-point deficit in the last minute. C-Team defeated Goddard 41-14. Reid C scored 8 points and Tyler D had 6 points to lead the way. Come watch the dominating Knights take on Powell today after school!

It’s time again to start thinking about Newton’s Knight of Talent, our annual student talent show.  All grades and types of acts are welcome.  Audition packets are ready for you to pick up from either Ms. Trainer or Ms. P. Andrews.  Deadline for forms is Friday, February 16.  See either Ms. Trainer or Ms. Andrews with questions.


Last night the 8th grade boys basketball A-Team defeated Powell 38-30 behind Jareb R 12 points and 7 rebounds. Cooper F led us defensively with 9 steals while chipping in 4 rebounds and 4 points. B-Team lost to Powell 57-11 but were led by Zachary D with 9 points and 3 rebounds. C-Team lost in the last second of the game in a 23-22 heartbreaker. Ian B had 6 points and Tannon M scored 4 points and added 4 rebounds for the Knights.

8th grade basketball A-Team wins big 64-23 over Goddard. Chase D led the way with 21 points, while Alex H chipped in 17. B-Team worked hard in an ultimate loss in double overtime 36-40 despite 12 points from Zachary D. C-Team wins going away 27-15 behind Mac U and Will G scoring. The Newton Knights basketball teams dominated in two great victories yesterday. B-Team was led by Micah C with 10 points in a 44-10 victory over Options while C-Team was led by Noah H with 8 points. Great performance by the whole C Team in a 36-8 win. Congratulations, gentlemen!

Congratulations 8th grade boys basketball teams in their first games against Euclid yesterday. A-Team was led by Chase D with 13 points and Alex H with 12 points while Cooper F led the way defensively in the 44-14 win. B-Team was led by Zachary D with 8 points in a thrilling 35-33 win in overtime. C-Team was led by Reid C with 10 points; great performance by the whole C-Team in a 38-5 win. Thank you to all the band and orchestra students who performed for us the last two evenings!  It was such a treat to listen to how much the musicians have grown and how well they are playing together! Mrs. Rahne really enjoyed "Themes from the Nutcracker" and "Hot Cross Buns". đŸ˜€   It really helped set the stage for the holiday season!  A special thank you to Mrs. Bransgrove for all of your hard work and putting on two awesome performances!

All the coaches are very proud of all the wrestlers efforts this season. We ended the middle school wrestling tournament with 5 gold medal wrestlers, 4 silver medal wrestlers and 1 bronze wrestler. Two of our wrestlers went undefeated this season, and coaches would like to recognize Ian McCall for an undefeated middle school (6th, 7th & 8th grade) wrestling record. Congrats to all and see you on Thursday!

Congratulations to the 6th grade students who took on the SRO's, SWAT guys and other Officers from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office in a 2 game wiffle ball tournament. The 6th graders took home a traveling trophy by scoring 8 more runs than the officers did during the two games played. The trophy is being displayed in the main office on the spirit wear showcase.


We heard some grumbling among the 8th grade class so, 7th and 8th graders, you might be next!  




Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade Knights wrestling team. We had a hard fought dual with Euclid yesterday with 9 wins, 6 pins, and 29 winning points. Way to go Knights!!
