"If you are interested in a free lacrosse camp put on by the Arapahoe High School teams this Saturday, come to the office for a brochure. You will get a free lacrosse stick if you participate."

Please join Ms. Mikkelsen and Mr. Cohen in congratulating all of our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who braved the weather and competed in the regional Brain Bowl tournament on Saturday. All of our teams made an excellent showing. A very special congratulations goes to 6th graders Rees L, Jack S, Kai M, Christopher G, and Nick P who not only beat every other 6th grade team during the oral competition rounds, but also made it through both elimination rounds and will be going to the State tournament in March!

Saturday February 11 is Middle School night at the Heritage High School Varsity Hockey game.  We want to see hockey players and fans from all the LPS middle schools come out and support the team as we take on Air Academy in our last regular season home game.  Admission for middle school kids is free and half price for your parents.  The game starts at 8:30 PM at South Suburban Ice Rink located 6580 S Vine St., Centennial, CO 80121.

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boy's  Basketball "B" team, who beat Goddard last night, 38 - 28.  The game was won with hustle, good defense, and overall good teamwork.  The 7th Grade Boy's "A" team also played hard, keeping it close for 3 Quarters, but ended up losing a tough game.  Our next, and last, game will be here at Newton, next Tuesday night.  Come on out and support your teams!

January 4, 2012 - EVEN Day Schedule

Please check the bulletin board outside of the office or the rack in the office for Information on the following:

8^th GRADERS – please make sure you are checking our website and the website of the HS you are planning on attending for important HS dates you need to know!

Reminders:

Attention 8th grade Boys Basketball Players, here is the practice schedule for this week:

Thursday- A and B Team will practice; meet in the gym by 3:00; A and B team players only!!

See Mr. Atherton in Room 214 with questions.

Attention all 7th grade boys!  There will be an Interest Meeting after school Thursday, if you are interested in playing basketball this year. Meet in Mr. Worsley's Room 307 right after school.  The meeting will be short so make sure you have a way home.  If you cannot make the meeting, stop by Mr. Worsley's or Mr. Franklins' room for a practice schedule.

6^th & 7^th Graders – if you are open enrolled to Newton from outside of the district, your parents need to submit an Intent to Renew application to the office by January 31^st.
