Great job to the Newton Wrestling Knights as they took on the Powell Pumas last night. Our boys fought hard in their individual matches as many of them showed the true spirit of wrestling. Congratulations to Mason Clark, Matthew Patron, Logan Hunter, Yaxel Villanueva, and many more for their victories on the mat. Excellent Work!!

Flag Football Club Members practice is canceled today due to weather, we will resume for next week if weather permits! So sorry and see you next week!

Please listen carefully about Lunch and Recess today.

If it is raining, we will have an indoor day and show a movie in the cafeteria.  Students will eat at their tables.  When you are done eating, you will then go to the learning stairs and find a place to sit and stay seated.  Students should not be running from place to place.  Additionally, you may not eat anything on the stairs.  We will have a lot of adults watching behavior at lunch today and students that are not able to keep their hands and feet to themselves, are eating, or moving around from place to place, will be sent to the office for the rest of the lunch period.  We will be sending students to the office without a warning, so be on your best behaviors!

If it is NOT raining today, it will be treated like any other day, meaning everyone will be going outside for at least the last 5 minutes of lunch.  Students will need to use the restroom and head outside BEFORE it is time to go outside.  ALL students will be going outside.  If you did not wear appropriate clothes to go outside, please do so moving forward as this will be the expectation this entire school year.

Last night's wrestling festival at Euclid was amazing. The future of the Newton Nights wrestling program has a solid foundation in the 6th grade class. Every athlete did a fantastic job! Mason Closson, Tracen Gibson, Wyatt Irving, Grayson Linn, Aidan Lowry, George Rumsa, Devan Smith, Jacob Thomas, and Bobby Williams fought with an edge and desire of seasoned wrestlers. Not only did they all fight hard, they all demonstrated the sportsmanship and consideration of their fellow athlete that makes an organization extremely proud. Great job 6th grade wrestlers!

Congratulations to the girls 7th grade basketball teams on their victories over Powell last night.

The A Team rolled to a 35 to 12 win. Leading the scoring was Sloane Scully with 14 points. Megan and Charlotte led a strong rebounding effort, while Grace had the most steals.

The B Team also won 10 to 8, with Avery Mudloff leading the team in points and steals. MJ Minter had the most rebounds. Way to go Lady Knights!
