  • Attention all current 6th and 7th Graders: Do you like to be the first to know about things? Do you love to share information with others? Do you have a knack for digital and print communications? If so, you should fill out the Electronic Publishing / Digital Media application! Through this application process, we will be selecting the staff for next year’s year-long Knight Time class that will produce Newton’s yearbook as well as video and audio announcements and weekly newscasts. The staff would also be in charge of keeping Newton’s social networking activity up to date. This is a very competitive process with only a few positions available. If you would like to fill out an application, visit Mr. Cohen’s or Mr. Wilmes’ classroom website for the link. All applications are due by May 9th.
  • Hey fellow knights! Do you have any gently used sports equipment that you no longer need? Please donate! We will give this equipment to Kids Across America, a summer camp organization for underprivileged kids. Your donation will help these kids have a better summer experience! The donation boxes are placed in the library and the main office.  We are looking for basketball, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, and tennis equipment. For more information, see Mrs. Colmenero in the library, visit their website at kidsacrossamerica.org or check out posters around the school. Thanks!
  • Congratulations 8th grade Volleyball players for a fantastic season.  So we can celebrate your successes please make sure you return your jersey and a contribution of $3 to our celebratory lunch to Mrs. Mack or Ms. Timinski ASAP.
  • Dodgeball is any of a variety of games in which players try to hit other players on the opposing team with balls while avoiding being hit themselves. Hey Knights!  It is that time of year again for the 8th grade vs. staff game. This year we will have our first annual 8th grade vs staff Dodge ball game! Students come cheer on your 8th grade class or the teachers TODAY for our Cinco De Dodge Ball game. It will be after school, in the gym from 3-4 and FREE to attend!  The grade level with the most attendance will get a treat the next day at lunch! If you are an 8th grader interested in trying to beat the teachers, sign up with Mrs. J Andrews or Mrs. Jenkins!
