The February Newton Community KNight is TOMORROW, February 13 at Noodles SouthGlenn from 5pm-9pm. Get a head start on Valentine's Day and dine out at Noodles! Mention Newton and 25% of associated dine in or take out sales will be donated back to benefit our school.
Game day club has moved days! We will be meeting in the art room on Thurs. Please join us to play various games including trading card games, board games, even rubies cubes! Join us on Thurs to hang out with friends and eat great snacks! Please see Ms. J Andrews if you have any questions.
8th grade girls, are you ready to Bump, Set, Spike? There will be a brief informational meeting during lunch TODAY about volleyball season. If you forget to see Ms. Timinski during lunch , fear not, as there will be a second brief meeting after school TOMORROW in room 1117. If you attend the after school meeting, please make sure you have a ride home, as the meeting will last approximately 15 minutes. Can't make a meeting? See Ms. Timinski or Mrs. Osthoff for information. The first practice will be after school on Thursday, February 15th.
6th Grade Coed Basketball: There will be an interest meeting for any boy or girl interested in joining 6th grade basketball this year. The meeting will take place on Wednesday February 14in the morning before school at 7:30 in the gym. Please come and join us for some hoops and fun this year and join 6th grade Basketball. Please see Mr. Blake if you have any questions.
Performing arts club reminder, there will be no club meeting next week. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 20th! Please be ready to practice your showcase piece!
Lego Club and Game Day club have joined forces! Come to the art room on Thurs to hang out with friends, eat great snacks, play games and build with legos! Please see Mrs. Silverman or Ms. J Andrews if you have any questions.
The 8th grade boys basketball C-Team beat Powell 27-17 at Saturday’s district tournament to bring home the championship. Reid C led the team with 10 points and Jacob G scored 5 points with Ali Oscoring 4 to lead the way. B-Team lost a hotly contested championship game 27-36. Maxwell R and Zachary D led the team in scoring; overall it was a great effort for Newton as they walk away with a 2nd place overall finish. A-Team was crowned the champions with a 53-43 win over Powell. Chase D scored 28 points with 7 3-point shots made! Alex H scored 12 points, and Jareb R had 13 rebounds for the Knights. Cooper F's defense was smothering all game long and led to many easy baskets for Newton. The Knights finished the season undefeated at 8-0! Overall each team had a fantastic season and Coach Conant would like to thank all players for their effort. It was truly special coaching these boys this year. Thank you also to everyone who came out to support!
