Reminders:
If you received an NJHS application be sure to complete it and return it to Mrs. Hissem in Room 105 or Mrs. Petrelli in Room 106 by the end of the day on Friday. Don't forget to give the reference forms to the teachers you have chosen as soon as possible because they need to complete those by Monday. If you have any questions, please let us (Mrs. Hissem or Mrs. Petrelli) know! We're looking forward to welcoming you to NJHS!
Hey Newton!! Do you have
talent!!?? Well guess what the Talent show is back! Start thinking about what
you might want to perform for tryouts for this year’s talent show. Audition
forms will become available February 3rd so start preparing. We can't wait to
see what you come up with!
Calling all spellers: The Newton Spelling Bee
will be held on Monday, January
27 after school in the mini theater. Participants need to
arrange a ride home. The winner of the Newton Bee will move on to compete
in the district bee, which will be held on February 18th
at 3:30 at Powell. Everyone who is eliminated from oral bee
will also have the opportunity to participate in the written bee, which will be
held later in the week during knight time or homeroom. Word lists and
information can be found outside Mrs. Lacey's room, 206.
Attention all
fantasy footballers. We are having our
final meeting and awards ceremony today at 3:00 in Room 214. See Mr. Atherton with questions.
"Any 7th
grader who had Tech Ed. last semester and would like to complete their solar
boat project please sign up outside of Mr. Finer's room by the end of the day
Friday."
Starting
Monday, January 27 to Wednesday, January 29, students can donate money to their
homeroom class' envelope at lunch. The homeroom that raises the most money will
get a post Super Bowl party since we do not have homeroom again until February
7. If as a school, we raise $400, Mr. O'Tremba will have to wear a complete
Bronco head to toe get up on Friday, January 31. The money collected will fund
Super Bowl parties at assisted living communities in the area.
